The first step in selecting eyewear is to consider facial balance. For example selecting a wide and large frame can make a short face even shorter. The same can be said for someone who has a wide face; a small and narrow frame will make their face appear even larger.
In selecting your frame, consider when a shape is repeated it is re-emphasized. This means if the shape of your face is round, a round frame will make it seem even more round, and most likely heavier. Try beginning your search by looking for a contrasting frame shape to your own face shape.
Most people can be grouped into one of five basic face shapes. For a description of each face type and selection tips for eyewear, select the face type that most closely resembles your own.
